Join Earth Hour Special Day at The Green Island: Kuwait

Join the rest of the world in a simple way to help reduce some of the harm we’re causing this planet we live in (if you wanna continue on living in it), by simply switching off your lights for just one hour.

All around the world, people are joining in this fight against Climate Change or better known as Global Warming (they're not the same, though). Kuwait is one of 84 countries voting for Earth. Supported by the Voluntary Work Center, & with permission from the WWF, The Kuwait Team for Global Warming is organizing a special Earth Hour* day promoting & raising awareness for this event on Sat March 28, 2009. The event will be held in the Green Island & will start at 4:00-10:00 p.m. People will be learning more about this issue, as well as enjoying a packed up day full of events, & will be witnessing & participating in a global event thus making a stand against global warming & helping save the planet. Earth Hour will be as it always is, from 8:30 to 9:30 that night.

I’ve attended a seminar about the issue held by the team on March 11, 2009, & the even though there were no significant visitors, the spirit of the team was not down at all. They’ve conducted the seminar gracefully & we really had fun. Here are some of the pics I’ve taken:

What is Earth Hour?

"Earth Hour is an annual international event created by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), held on the last Saturday of March, that asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Based on an idea successfully executed in Thailand in 2005, it was pioneered by WWF Australia and the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, and achieved worldwide participation in 2008.

Confessions of A Shopaholic The Movie - Finally!!!!!!

So Finally! I was able to see the movie!

God! How long have I been waiting?????????

Anyways, this post is not gonna be about the movie review .. I'm really busy. I'm gonna write a detailed review later (I have to watch/read before I blab out what I thought about the movie!)

For now, I will just tell you that I "liked" it :)

& If you like chick-flicks you will definately enjoy it! It's totally a girl's only movie! LOL

Buried Under a Load of Drafts???

If you got a notification of a new blog entry from me & came to find that the so called “new post” was so far from being new, don't worry. Your mind isn't playing tricks on you & your eyes are not deceiving you. You’re totally fine!

It’s just that I like my post to be perfect (& by perfect I mean up to my standards), so I keep editing & re-editing (I might as well write a book!), & then try to find the perfect picture to go with it (that is the hardest part!) & all of that takes a lot of time & effort & I’m really busy & don’t have a lot of time!!!
So, whenever I find a spare hour (make that hours!), I try to finish editing the drafts & preventing them from staying that way forever …

It’s really ok as long as the thing I’m writing about isn’t past due! (A few days old, is ok!)

So, do look back at older months in the archive that you may have already gone threw, you might find a “new-old” post that you missed (because of me!)! he he he
